Frequently Asked Questions.

Why does my child need a career coach?

As parents, you hire countless tutors, pay for SAT/ACT prep courses, and educational advisors to help your children navigate the jump from high school to college. Yet at the pivotal juncture of figuring out “what to do with their lives,” we expect them to magically figure out how to launch their career — something they have no experience doing.

Similarly to how your investment in an SAT prep course positioned your student for admission to an excellent college, working with me will position your student for future success by giving them a critical advantage in today’s job market: career clarity. Read more here.

I’m a little bit older, can you help me?

Yes. While I typically work with intern-level and candidates with one to eight years of experience, I do work with candidates in their 30s and 40s who are looking to make a career switch or want to accelerate their careers.

My child is in high school. Can you help him/her?

Yes. While I typically work with intern-level and candidates with one to eight years of experience, I do work with high school juniors and seniors.

How are sessions conducted? Will you meet in person?

Once the session is booked, you will receive a Zoom link - that way, we can actually engage with each other “face-to-face” and share screens so we can make edits to your resume and cover letter in real-time. Sessions are not confirmed until payment is received in full. I do not meet in person

What will we discuss during my session?

That’s completely up to you. I want to make sure that we discuss your biggest pain points so I can set you on the path to solving them. Prior to our call, please let me know what your biggest pain points are, and we will structure the hour to address those issues.

Do you place candidates in internships or jobs?

While I do not outright offer placement services, I have connected many repeat clients to internship and job opportunities given my robust personal network and business (FreeFashionInternships.com).

I don’t know where to start. What should I do?

Don’t worry. If this is the case, we should start at square one! If you have little to no experience, I suggest you consider my program, Catalyst, and let me set you on the path to a successful career in the fashion industry.

Are you not ready to invest fully? Book a Sixty Minute Session, or sign up for my Self-Guided course.

Something came up. Can I reschedule?

All sessions are non-refundable once purchased. However, you may reschedule once for a more ideal time with 24-hour notice by e-mailing Carla directly. Services must be booked and rendered within 30 days of purchase.

Can parents sit in on sessions?

Parents are not able to sit in on any coaching sessions. I need the participants to be able to speak freely to ensure they get the most from our sessions. Your adult child needs to embark on this adventure without you. By all means, offer support and guidance, but your involvement should end there. It’s not like you’d sit in on their interview or attend their first day of work! Unsurprisingly, employers have a very negative view on parental involvement when it comes to hiring.
