Parents

Why does my child need a career coach?

As parents, you hire countless tutors, pay for SAT/ACT prep courses, and educational advisors to help your children navigate the jump from high school to college. Yet at the pivotal juncture of figuring out “what to do with their lives,” we expect them to magically figure out how to launch their career — something they have no experience doing.Similarly to how your investment in an SAT prep course positioned your student for admission to an excellent college, working with me will position your student for future success by giving them a critical advantage in today’s job market: career clarity. With so many choices, heightened competition, and uncertainty around what career is right for them, it’s easy for students to feel overwhelmed.

ON TOP OF IT ALL, THE FASHION INDUSTRY IS NOTORIOUSLY GATED. THE MAJORITY OF JOBS—BETWEEN 70 AND 80 PERCENT—ARE NOT SECURED VIA JOB SITES, RATHER THROUGH NETWORKING AND INTERNAL REFERRALS. THIS MAKES INTERNING CRUCIAL TO YOUR CHILD’S FUTURE SUCCESS IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY.

This is where I come in. My goal is to help young people navigate the complexities of the very dynamic, fast changing industry of fashion. I help them find their voice, footing, and ultimately, realize their potential.I’m here to help build confidence and empower your student. Most importantly, I’ll teach her or him how to be their own best advocate, so they’ll can not only nail their interview, but achieve their greatest potential once they’re on the job.

I EXCLUSIVELY WORK WITH COLLEGE STUDENTS AND RECENT GRADUATES BECAUSE I INTIMATELY UNDERSTAND THE UNIQUE CHALLENGES AND NEEDS THEY HAVE AS A YOUNG ADULT AT THE START OF THEIR CAREER.

I’ve worked in the fashion industry for 15 years, founded the top fashion internship website, and am a professor at a prestigious fashion college’s graduate program. I have a Master’s in Strategic Communications from Columbia, and a Master’s in Management from Harvard. I’ve lectured at universities such as Harvard, NYU, Parsons, Columbia, FIT and Ohio State about internship and career preparedness, as well as entrepreneurship.

I know what employers are looking for, and can help get your student on the right track. I’ve helped dozens of fashion industry hopefuls secure their first fashion internship or job with brands such as GQ Magazine, Christian Louboutin, Balmain, and Jimmy Choo, and would love to help your child next!
